In Progress

In addition to reducing WA’s emissions, the EV network makes it more convenient for people to make the switch to an EV and travel across WA, including inter-regional and long-distance journeys.

Features of the WA EV Network

Fast and ultra-fast chargers have been installed, making it easier for you to switch to an EV and enjoy the confidence of being able to charge your EV across the State.

This includes 110 EV charging stations across 49 locations. Our EV network stretches from Kununurra in the north, right down to Esperance in the south and east to Mundrabilla.

EVs will become greener as Synergy replaces its coal generators with renewable wind, solar and batteries. EVs can also be considerably cleaner if charged from your home rooftop solar.

What are the benefits of EVs?

  • They’re more energy efficient and generally cheaper to maintain than traditional petrol or diesel vehicles.
  • They improve our air quality with less emissions and reduce noise pollution.
  • Creating local jobs through the construction of the network and development of renewable energy infrastructure in Western Australia.

WA is planning for the increase of EVs on our roads, ensuring everyone has ongoing reliable and efficient charging through initiatives like the Charge Up grant schemes for local governments, SME's and not-for-profit organisations; and more affordable access to EVs through the Zero Emission Vehicle Rebate.
